Blessings in a Backpack
Blessings in a Backpack is a wonderful community outreach program that makes sure that students on free or reduced lunch have enough food to see them through the weekend and ready to learn come Monday morning. This program runs throughout the school year and we are always looking for volunteers to pack out bags of food on Friday mornings, right after drop off. If you are interested in volunteering for Blessings in a Backpack please contact us for more information.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our Thanksgiving food drive makes a big difference to our students and their families over the holidays. We provide Thanksgiving meals to students on free or reduced lunch so that they can have a bountiful holiday with their family. Volunteers are needed to help count and sort cans during the 2 weeks prior to Thanksgiving. If you are interested in volunteering for the Thanksgiving Food Drive please contact us for more information.

Holiday Toy Drive
Our Holiday Toy Drive assures that no Seabreeze student goes without gifts during the holidays. Students are preselected based on need and donated toys are distributed the week before Winter Break. Toy donations are encouraged during this time and volunteers are needed to help deliver toys and bikes the week before Winter Break. If you are interested in volunteering for the Holiday Toy Drive please contact us for more information.
Character Counts Awards & Luncheon
Character Counts is a monthly program that recognizes good citizenship based on a monthly character trait. Each month 1 student is chosen per class to receive this recognition. Volunteers are needed to help with the bulletin board in the main hallway that is updated monthly with pictures of the Character Counts student of the month. We also need volunteers to help prepare certificates and attend the monthly luncheon to pass out a sweet treat to the students and parents. If you are interested in volunteering for Character Counts please contact us for more information.

Tears and Cheers Breakfast
The first event of the school year is our annual Tears and Cheers Breakfast. Everyone is welcome to attend, specifically new kindergarten parents. Stop by and meet some other Seabreeze parents and learn about the many programs we have going on at the school. Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up the breakfast. If you are interested in volunteering for the Tears and Cheers Breakfast please contact us for more information.
Landscaping & Campus Beautification
A lot of sweat and hard work has gone into improving the school grounds and courtyards. Twice each school year we have a big push to clean up with both parents and teachers getting their hands dirty. Volunteers are needed to help with clean up but the PTA is also looking for someone to help coordinate volunteers on the day of the event. If you are interested in volunteering for Campus Clean Up Day please contact us for more information.

Grandparent Luncheon
Each September we welcome grandparents, aunts, uncles, moms, dads and any other special family members to come and have lunch with their Seabreeze student. It is the perfect opportunity for loved ones to come and visit Seabreeze. Volunteers are needed to help set up for the event, as well as throughout the day. We also need donations of baked goods on the luncheon days. If you are interested in volunteering for the Grandparent Luncheon please contact us for more information.
Teacher Appreciation Luncheons
During each grading period, our PTA hosts a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for our teachers and staff. Volunteers are needed on those days to set up, help serve and clean up after the event. If you are interested in volunteering for one of our Teacher Appreciation Luncheons please contact us for more information.

Blood Drive
Twice a year Seabreeze hosts a blood drive to help out and support the community. Blood Drive days are typically held in October and February and we are always looking for healthy adults to participate. If you are interested in donating blood or helping the P.T.A. promote the Blood Drive, please contact us for more information.
Vision and Hearing Screening
This long-running program by DCPS is implemented by the PTA and for most students is their first screen to detect subtle vision and hearing problems. All grades receive an annual vision screen, while kindergarten, first grade and any new students to Seabreeze also get a hearing check-up too. Volunteers are needed in the Fall to help with Vision and Hearing Screening. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us for more information.

Morning Mile Club
We're excited to offer all students the opportunity to join the Morning Mile Running Club. Students meet before school, 3 days a week to run laps. All their progress is tracked throughout the year and prizes are awarded for specific milestones. You can read more about the Morning Mile Club in our recent press coverage. If you'd like to help with this before school club, please contact us for more information. The club costs $10 to join, and students must have a completed permission slip to participate. All students must turn in a completed Morning Mile Club Permission Slip to participate in the program.
